Coomera, Carrara, Upper Mudgeeraba, Lamington NP, Oxenford, Reedy Creek, Guanaba, Arundel, Pimpama,
Other locality
Widespread but not common in open forest and farmland. Wedgetails are seen regularly in the region but due to their large territory size, only a very small population is present, and this could be vulnerable to human impacts.
General ecology
Open forest, woodland, farmland.
Specific ecology
Remote forests for nesting.
Habitat comment
Wedgetails are probably increasing slowly in numbers after an earlier decline from shooting. They will live in partially cleared country provided they can nest in a tall tree away from human eyes.
Management
Of conservation significance due to the small population size.
